West Des Moines Community Shred Day w/ Lion Club MembersNorthwest Bank in West Des Moines recently sponsored a community shred day on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Travis Simpson, Regional President in West Des Moines, explains, “We enjoy offering a chance for members of the community to safely dispose of documents they no longer need. During our shred events everyone in the community is welcome to bring in outdated tax returns, bank statements, canceled checks, and other documents for on-the-spot shredding. This event serves as a fundraiser to support the local Lions Club and raise awareness about their numerous contributions to our community. We are grateful to everyone who took part in this initiative.”

During this shred event, we collected a record $3,500.00 in donations for the Lions Club. Over 6 tons of documents were shredded, and 75 pairs of eyeglasses were donated to help combat vision impairment and blindness in the region.  Eyeglass recycling is one example of the many good works implemented by the Lions Club to benefit those in need.
