Brad Cave, Commercial Banker, AVP,  is responsible for managing and developing an agriculture loan portfolio as well as handling new account development to include customer deposit and loan servicing. With a degree in Ag Business and Business Administration from Northwestern College, Cave has previous experience in banking, along with crop insurance and field marketing.

Brenda has over 40 years of financial services experience. Her responsibilities include production of all business banking products such as business operating lines of credit, business equipment loans, small business loans and commercial real estate in the Omaha market. Additional services include commercial deposit accounts and electronic banking services. Brenda is actively involved in the community and attends Westside Community Church. 

Brent Plantage, Vice President, Commercial Banker, manages a loan portfolio consisting of commercial real estate and operating loans. Brent is also responsible for marketing bank services to existing and potential commercial clients. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and History from Morningside. Brent also graduated from the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, CO, completed the Iowa Bankers Association Commercial Lending School and has completed a number of other banking seminars. Plantage is a volunteer with United Way and has served in various capacities with the organization the past ten years.

Cara graduated from Iowa State University and is responsible for developing and managing commercial businesses to help meet their banking needs.  She currently serves on the board of Central Iowa RMA, is Chair for the RMA Young Professional Committee and is actively involved in Teach Children to Save. Cara enjoys volunteering in the Des Moines community including coaching youth athletics and Habitat for Humanity. 

Carson Farmer specializes in Commercial and Agricultural banking.  He has been with Northwest Bank since graduating from the University of Iowa in 2017.  Since that time, he has grown his career through his Underwriting and Risk Management roles, assisting lenders with commercial relationships, and interpreting the numbers that go into major loan decisions.  Carson enjoys building and developing relationships with business owners as well as assisting entrepreneurs who are in the pursuit of their business ownership.  His background in credit, risk management, and finance helps Carson have valuable conversations with borrowers about their existing business needs as well as identify new opportunities to help them reach their financial goals.  Carson enjoys being active in the community through volunteering as a coach with Northwest Iowa Soccer Club and assistant coaching for Spencer High School.

Chad Schuiteman, President, is responsible for team development, coordinating bank involvement with the community, and being responsible for developing and servicing agriculture and commercial businesses to help meet their banking needs. Schuiteman began his career with Northwest Bank in 2015 and most recently served as Ag/Commercial Banker in Sioux Center.  Chad has expertise in areas of agricultural and commercial banking with personal experience in agricultural business. Schuiteman is a graduate of Northwestern College with a degree in Ag Business. His education and insights have helped many of our customers meet their financial goals. Chad resides in Sioux Center and is looking forward to becoming involved in the community. He is involved in the Sioux Center FFA Alumni board and also with the Sioux Center Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee.

Clay has over 15 years of financial services experience. His responsibilities include production of all business banking products such as business operating lines of credit, business equipment loans, small business loans and commercial real estate in the in the Omaha market. Additional services include commercial deposit accounts and electronic banking services.

As an active community banker, Curt currently serves as a Dickinson County Soil and Water Commissioner and previously served on the Dickinson County Extension Council. He has been a past 4-H leader for 13 years and was inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame in 2002. Curt and his family reside on a 3rd generation farm outside of Superior and are active members of St. Mary’s parish  in Spirit Lake where he is a 4th degree Knights of Columbus. 

With a career that spans over 25 years, Doug has wide range of banking and management experience that includes retail, business banking, agricultural and commercial lending, and treasury management. Doug is an Iowa native and was raised on a west central Iowa farm. He resides in Ames with his wife, Tina and their twin sons, Carson, and Caleb. He is a 1995 graduate of Iowa State University and a three-year football letter winner and member of the 1994 Academic All-Big 8 team. He is also a 2008 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking. Doug is active in and dedicated to the Ames and Story County community. He has served on the United Way of Story County Board of Directors, Gilbert Education Foundation board, Cyclone Gridiron Club board and was treasurer of ASSET. Many hours have also been spent coaching youth sports teams over the years. He also was an appointed commissioner for the Ames Planning and Zoning Commission.  Currently, Doug is on the boards of the Boys and Girls Club of Story County, Ames Economic Development Commission, and Ames Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Ames Noon Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow.

Eric Walhof, Regional President, has the responsibility of overseeing our Sioux Center, Le Mars, Spencer, Milford, Arnolds Park, Spirit Lake, and Estherville locations and their Market Leaders. His role supports the bank’s mission of providing progressive banking services to its customer base.  Eric combines his passion of mentoring customers and employees with building a solid loan portfolio.  With over 25 years of banking experience in agricultural, commercial banking and team management, Eric shares his expertise in all aspects of community banking. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Dordt College. He also serves on the Sioux Center Health Foundation, Sioux Center Planning and Zoning Committee, ATLAS of Sioux Center, he is a member of Kiwanis and is involved with several other community entities. Eric is deeply committed to strengthening the communities that Northwest Bank serves and to support our bankers as they grow their careers.

Jacob has been with Northwest Bank since 2017 and recently moved into his new role after completing the Manager Trainee program and was previously a loan portfolio manager with Northwest Bank. He graduated from Dordt University where he received his Agricultural Business degree and minor in Economics.  Jacob currently serves on the Special Youth Challenge board, Spencer Community Theatre board and the GACO board.  He is also apart of the Clay County Ag Committee.  Jacob is actively involved with Spencer Jaycees, Grand Avenue Community Outreach and is a member at Riverside Church and Ignite Youth Ministries.

James Ramsey, Vice President and Commercial Lender brings over 25 years of financial services experience to the Northwest Bank team and specializes in growing and managing Commercial and Business banking relationships. James’ banking background includes Chief Credit Officer, Senior Lender and former bank examiner. James is a member of one of Des Moines’ oldest breakfast clubs, The Morning Club. He also serves in other community organizations such as Ankeny Rotary and the Ankeny Economic Development Committee.

Jason brings over 10 years of financial services experience to the Northwest Bank Team. As the Treasury Management Lead, he helps manage the sales team to achieve their goals while producing in the Omaha Market as well. Jason is an expert of our commercial deposit accounts and services that include: Remote Capture, ACH capabilities, Positive Pay, Online Account Management, Sweep Accounts and Wire Services. He is also a supporter of the community as an Ambassador and Young Professional for the Sarpy Chamber and the finance chair at St. Thomas Lutheran Church. 

Jed has been with Northwest Bank for more than 18 years and over 27 years in the banking industry. He brings significant banking experience in retail, mortgage, commercial lending, loan collections and bank management.  He is a 2006 graduate of the University of Wisconsin’s Graduate School of Banking.  He and his family have lived in Spirit Lake for 18 years where he is deeply involved in the community as a member of Kiwanis, Immanuel Lutheran Church, and is involved with the Dickinson County Industrial Development Board along with other community organizations.

Jill Thielen brings 26 years of financial services experience and expertise to Northwest Bank. Jill serves on the Board of the Faith Formation Council at St. Mary’s of Nazareth and is involved with the Johnston and West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce. 

Jim is an accounting graduate of University of Northern Iowa and the President and CEO of Campbell, Higgins, & Mummert, P.C., a public accounting firm, for the past 25+ years. He grew up around Galva, IA which introduced him to the love of a farm and a strong work ethic. Jim expresses the importance and value of volunteering, which has led him to volunteering for multiple organizations. He has served for the YMCA, Spencer Community School Foundation, Spencer Hospital Foundation, and several church boards. In addition, he has served and continues to serve on multiple advisory committees and assisted with many projects that allow him to give back and stay connected with his community.

As a director of Northwest Bank, Jim enjoys providing his financial acumen to board discussions and decisions.

 

John Taets truly believes in the mission statement of Northwest Bank - Building Relationships and Exceeding Expectations. With over 40 years of financial services experience, John shares his expertise in all aspects of community banking. Prior to joining Northwest Bank, John served as an Ag Lender for Farmers State Bank in Jesup Iowa, Farm Credit Services in Rochester Minnesota and past President of Wells Fargo Bank in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He currently serves as a board member for Unity Point Health System. He has severed as past President for Fort Dodge Catholic Schools, Fort Dodge and Webster County Development Corporation and Trinity Regional Hospital Foundation. He has served the boards of Greater Fort Dodge Area Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador, Friendship Haven Foundation board member, Unity Point Health Fort Dodge as board chair and the Iowa College Foundation co-chair for Webster County.  John is also a current member of Rotary International.

Kelly brings over 17 years of commercial lending and relationship management to Northwest Bank. He is confident that you as a business owner will like his consultative approach to commercial banking.  Allow him to invest time in your business to prove how his resources can benefit you.  Areas of specialty include working capital lines of credit, real estate loans and equipment facilities.

Kelly is a Small Business Association Facilitator, participation in Boots to Business, and a SCORE Mentor. He is a volunteer Hastings College Alumni Mentor, RMA member, Sons of the American Legion, Nebraska Bankers Association member and a member of the Association of Corporate Growth.

Kevin is very active in the community volunteering and serving on various non-profit boards and advisory committees including past chairmen of the Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce. Kevin is currently on the board of directors of the Midlands Community Foundation, CHI Health Midlands Hospital Community Board, Papillion La Vista Schools Teammates Mentor, Youth Frontiers Business Advisory Committee, Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce Past Chairman’s Council and former Board of Director of the Papillion/La Vista Teammates, University of Nebraska Alumni Foundation Champions Club and University of Nebraska Advisory Board Member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Lisa has over 16 years of experience in the banking industry, with the past 7 years emphasis in Small Business Administration (SBA) lending developing her as an expert in this vital area of banking. Lisa is a graduate of Iowa State University. She is an active member of the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders, and several local service organizations.
